Who You Really Are

Identity is a longing that we all have deep in our souls. 

To know who were really are and why. 

To walk in the confidence of this would change EVERYTHING because who we believe we are becomes who we are. And the thoughts we think about ourselves determine how we experience our lives.

The quality of our relationships.

The job we have.

The clothes we wear.

Our health.

Our vitality.

And even how we treat ourselves.

This is why it is so important to let God inform us about who we are!

Dear friends, 

His thoughts about us are the HIGHEST, most NOBLE thoughts anyone could think of us. He sees us as the crown of creation, and He knows that when we believe this, we act like it.

The point is that we get to decide whether to believe Him or not.

We can not fully walk in our true identity unless we believe it.

In order to believe it, we must choose who and what we believe defines us.

If God, our creator, is that source, then we must have a clear understanding of who He is.  We need to know His character, what He has done, and what He says He will do, to KNOW Him well enough to fully believe Him. 

Only then can we trust in who he has created us to be and why.

How do we know Him, you ask? Well, that's easy. 

Just like you get to know anyone.

By reading His word and spending time with Him. 

Memorize what HE says so that when the enemy attempts to convince us otherwise, we can fight that battle in our minds exactly the way Jesus did. With God’s words! We can then surrender those lies unto the lord. Drop that narrative that we have agreed with for so long and receive our identity with open hands and open hearts.

I realize this can feel overwhelming. Believe me, l felt that way for years! However, I have discovered so many resources to help me! My favorite is the Bible Recap.START

It's a reading plan that walks you through the Bible chronologically as Tara-Leigh Cobble interprets it. Trust me when I say, it will change your life. 

When we listen to God first and allow HIM to tell us WHO WE REALLY ARE, everything changes.

Your identity and inheritance are sprinkled throughout scripture.

I am a child of God ( John 1:12)

I am Christ’s ambassador (2 Cor. 5:20)

I am tenderly loved by God ( Jer. 31:3)

I am the sweet fragrance of Christ to God (2 Cor. 2:15)

I am a temple in which God dwells (1 Cor. 3:16)

I am the salt of the earth (Matt. 5:14)

I am sanctified (Heb.2:11)

I am a prince (princess) in God’s kingdom ( John 1:12; 1Tim. 6:15)

These scriptures outline our identity and inheritance as God's children. 

Let THIS define you. Read it. Rehearse it. Believe it.

Copy them into your journal. Save them to your home screen. Post them on the fridge or the bathroom mirror. recite these truths into your soul until you walk in full belief of your TRUE IDENTITY!
